New for 2026/7 School Year
At JNY Day School we welcome all boys to join us for remediation in reading.
Our program is designed for children to join our school for a full day, or part of the day.
Many students struggle with Hebrew or English reading. JNY Day School offers a specialized reading remedial program which helps students develop their language and reading skills. Every day each student reads with a reading specialist. Small groups are also set up for review and reinforcement.
Our goal is to work with each child to perfect their reading and help them reintegrate in to their main classroom as students who are confident readers.
Hebrew reading
Our school uses DotByDot, a comprehensive reading curriculum that focuses on reading in small incremental steps. Each skill is taught, and then builds a foundation for the next skill.
English Reading
Our school uses LiPS (Linda MoodBell Phoneme Sequencing Program)
LiPS helps students feel the sounds, and identify each sound within a word.
LiPS is proven to help students with reading difficulties.

10:55 Pack up to go to main school. Students staying for a full day have recess at this time.
During Kriah time we offer daily reading with a reading specialist, small group reading, and reading activities as a reinforcement.
*Davening will take place in small groups during the above time.
11:20 Parsha / Yomim Tovim
12:00 Lunch
12:30 Recess
